Catalytic converters may also fail after two to three years and there are reports of power steering failures at three to four years old, costing £650 for a new motor, though this may have been caused by drivers burning out the motor by holding it on lock.

Peugeot 107 launched in the UK
Comes with just one trim level and a single 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine. The 107 Urban comes equipped with a 1.0 litre, 3 cylinder petrol engine and a 5 speed manual gearbox. A 2-tronic, controlled manual gearbox is available as an option. The list of standard equipment - both in terms of safety and comfort - is highly competitive in this sector and its insurance group rating is 1E.
Active safety features include anti-lock braking (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBFD) and cornering stability control (CSC). The 107 is fitted with SMART driver and passenger airbags and front side airbags as standard. Security includes a Thatcham approved transponder immobiliser, a locking fuel filler cap and an internally operated central locking button.
Comfort and convenience for the 107 driver have been assured with the inclusion of speed related electric power steering, remote control central locking, electric front windows, tinted glass, height adjustable steering wheel, 5 speed heater fan and an integrated radio/CD player with input socket for an MP3 player. A range of cost options is also available to tailor the specification of the car to the owner's requirements; these include, metallic paint, air conditioning with recirculation and pollen filter and alloy wheels.
October 2006
Peugeot introduced new 107 entry-model called Urban Lite which uses the 68bhp 3-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine, capable of 100mph and 61.4mpg. Standard features include electric power steering, driver and passenger airbags, CD stereo with MP3 socket, ABS with EBFD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) and CSC (Cornering Stability Control). 'Urban Lite' models are available in Laser Red, Citrus Yellow or Raven Black.
The more highly-specified current 107 'Urban' model also features remote central door locking, electric windows, 50/50 split folding rear seats with Isofix mountings, body-coloured door mirrors and door handles, side-rubbing strips and rigid removable luggage cover. A 2-Tronic 'auto' Urban model is also available.

Improved 107 arrives
The revised Peugeot 107 arrived at UK showrooms and is available in three trim levels, starting with the Urban Lite. All 107s benefit from a new look, a 1.0-litre petrol engine with exceptionally low CO2 of just 106g/km and economy of 62.7 mpg. The popular Urban model has standard features over the Urban Lite that include body-coloured items, electric front windows, side airbags and remote central door locking, and the choice of either manual and 2-Tronic (an electronically controlled manual that operates as an automatic) transmission.
The new Verve model is a top-of-the-range Special Edition that includes as standard air conditioning, 14-inch alloy wheels and a rev counter, and exclusive availability of the new Mandalin Orange paintwork. For 2009, the new 107 features a design update with enhanced specification plus a new sharper front-end style.
New 14-inch 'Cordouan' wheel trims styled with a seven-spoke design are available while at the rear, there is a dark glass tailgate/rear windscreen separating the angled contours of the rear lights. Two new colours 'Mandalin Orange' and 'Electra Blue' supplement the existing range of Raven Black, Citrus Yellow, Laser Red, Carbon Grey and Zircon Grey.
Simple and functional, the interior of the 107 is also brimming with originality - the seats feature integral head restraints, a distinctive orange back-lit translucent panel for the heating/ventilation or air conditioning system (incorporating graphics with a modern feel), and a single instrument panel from which a rev counter is placed above. Interior trims have developed in line with changes to style and body colours. A new 'Code' trim, accompanied by a silver grey bead on the seat surrounds. The Urban level retains its predominantly grey 'City' mesh trim but also features highlights linked to the sparkling new body colours. This design is another aspect likely to have wide appeal with customers, complementing the new front design aspect and its wider use of chrome decoration.
June 2010
Peugeot launched the 107 Millesim. Powered by an economical three cylinder petrol engine, which emits just 106 g/km, it benefits from zero vehicle excise duty and a group three insurance rating. This means that it is the perfect car from the point of view of low running costs and with the comprehensive standard Millesim specification, the ideal car for customers looking for a small car but still requiring big car features, like air-conditioning, alloy wheels, etc.
It is based on the current Urban Plus model but benefits from a range of extra standard equipment consisting of 14-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning, a rev counter, special code blue seat trim, blue air vent surrounds, blue instrument binnacle and unique Millesim 200 badging.
