New Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer priced from £25,005
Vauxhall has confirmed pricing and specifications for the All-new Astra Sports Tourer. Available with a choice of powertrains, including a highly-efficient Plug-in HYBRID-e version for the first time, prices for the All-New Astra Sports Tourer start from £25,005 on-the-road, with first deliveries due in late summer.
New Vauxhall Design Language
Together with its five-door hatchback sibling, the stylish Astra Sports Tourer is a true design statement and Vauxhall’s first estate to carry the brand’s new bold and pure design philosophy. The Vauxhall Vizor front end features a single, clean panel that houses the new Griffin logo and various driver and safety aids, helping the Astra Sports Tourer achieve a clean and sharp look. The Vizor front end also houses the LED headlights and front camera.
At the rear, the Vauxhall Griffin logo sits at the centre of the tailgate, with the rear featuring the same vertically aligned, high-mounted brake lights as the Astra hatchback – further strengthening the Astra family ties. With its next compact estate generation, Vauxhall shows that the Astra Sports Tourer is ready to define a new era.
Measuring 4,642mm long, 1,860mm wide and 1,480mm tall, and with a loading height of 600mm, the practical Astra Sports Tourer further strengthens Vauxhall’s leading reputation in the estate sector and is another showcase of Vauxhall’s known talent for efficient packaging. The overall length is 60mm shorter compared to the previous generation Astra Tourer, thanks to the short front overhang, and features a 57mm longer wheelbase compared to the All-new Astra hatchback, at 2,732mm.
Next-Generation Tech And Safety Features
The design revolution continues inside. The fully digital Pure Panel human-machine interface (HMI) offers customers a pure, intuitive experience and features a 10-inch driver instrument cluster and a 10-inch digital touchscreen. Important settings such as climate control can still be selected directly via physical switches below the console for ease of access. The All-New Astra Sports Tourer is also best-in-class for smartphone connectivity, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto as standard across all models.
From standard, the All-New Astra Sports Tourer features the latest automated driver assistance systems. All models come with a Driver drowsiness system, eight airbags, lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking. In addition, the All-New Astra Sports Tourer can be had with active cruise control which increases or decreases speed to follow the vehicle in front, up to a complete stop. Models with automatic transmissions can resume driving automatically with the ‘Stop & Go’ technology.
GS-Line models come with an additional multifunction camera in the windscreen, four body cameras (one at the front, one at the rear and one on each side), five radar sensors (one at the front and one at each corner), as well as ultrasonic sensors front and rear.
The ultra-ergonomic seats are the best the compact estate segment has to offer, and are extremely comfortable, especially on long journeys. The driver’s seat has been developed in-house and is AGR* certified resulting in unrivalled comfort and support.
Efficient powertrains
The All-New Astra Sports Tourer will be available from launch with a 1.6 petrol Plug-in Hybrid-e powertrain for the first time, producing 180hp and offering up to 42 miles of electric range (EAER WLTP high).
In addition to Plug-in Hybrid-e versions, the All-new Astra Sports Tourer will be available with highly efficient petrol and diesel engines. Customers have a choice of 1.2-litre or 1.2-litre turbo three-cylinder petrol engines with a six-speed manual transmission, with turbo variants also available with a smooth eight-speed automatic. Diesel models come with a 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder engine, which can be had either with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic.
Space and practicality
The boot of the All-New Astra Sports Tourer provides up to 597 litres of useful storage space with the rear seats upright, and up to 1,634 litres when folded. In addition, when the 40:20:40- split rear seats are folded, the floor is completely flat – making it easier to load long and bulky items. Even with its underfloor lithium-ion battery, Plug-in HYBRID-e variants achieve cargo volumes of 516 litres and 1,553 litres, respectively.
Petrol and diesel variants of the Astra Sports Tourer can be specified with the optional “Intelli-Space” feature. This moveable load floor can be easily adjusted with one hand to high and low positions and tilted at a 45-degree angle. In addition, for even more convenience, the retractable boot storage cover can be stowed when the moveable floor is in both the upper as well as the lower position – in contrast to competitors that only allow stowage of the cover when the floor is in the upper position.
The Astra Sports Tourer with “Intelli-Space” can also make life easier in the event of a flat tyre. The kits for tyre repair and first aid are stored in clever underfloor compartments that can be accessed from the boot or rear passenger seating area. This means that the kits can be reached without needing to fully unpack the boot.

Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer GSe revealed
Following the recent announcement that Vauxhall will introduce GSe as a new electrified performance sub-brand, the brand is today announcing the first models to launch with a GSe version – the All-New Vauxhall Astra GSe and the All-New Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer GSe.
Both models will feature Vauxhall’s advanced Plug-in Hybrid powertrains and offer the optimum balance between ride comfort and performance-oriented handling, as well as ultra-low emissions thanks to the electrified powertrain.
James Taylor, Acting Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “Available with Plug-in Hybrid powertrains from launch, the All-New Astra GSe and All-New Astra Sports Tourer GSe are the ideal cars for launching our dynamic new sub-brand, offering sporty styling, enhanced driving performance and all the benefits of an electrified powertrain. As we work towards becoming an all-electric brand by 2028, our range-topping GSe models will showcase that electrified performance and driving pleasure can go hand-in-hand.”
GSe stands for Grand Sport Electric and offers athletic looks that build on Vauxhall’s award-winning Bold & Pure design as well as driver-focused chassis set-ups that complement the higher performance of an electrified powertrain whilst retaining the zero-emissions-in-use benefits.
With an impressive system power output of 225PS and maximum torque of 360Nm (WLTP combined fuel consumption 256.8-235.4mpg, CO2 emissions of 26-25 g/km; N.B. preliminary values), the All-New Astra GSe and All-New Astra Sports Tourer GSe will match the best in their respective classes for launch from a standstill, acceleration and maximum speed.
Vauxhall has achieved the performance-oriented handling characteristics by equipping the All-New Vauxhall Astra GSe models with a dedicated chassis that is 10mm lower than before and delivers superior stability during cornering, under braking and at higher speed.
A unique GSe suspension set-up, as well as unique steering calibration, offers more agile and precise handling characteristics.
The steering in the All-New Astra GSe and All-New Astra Sports Tourer GSe has been calibrated for a sportier feel, while the unique springs and oil-filled dampers of the front and rear suspension are specially tuned not only for dynamic driving but also for comfort. The dampers feature KONI FSD (Frequency Selective Damping), which enables different damping characteristics at high frequencies (suspension control) versus low frequencies (body control). The ESP settings are also exclusive to GSe models, with a higher activation threshold to match the dynamic driving behaviour.
Purposeful: bold and pure New Astra design plus signature GSe styling cues
The eighth generation Vauxhall Astra is a bold and pure design statement for the brand; the signature styling cues of the GSe give it an even more purposeful appearance. From the outside, the design of the 18-inch light-alloy wheels – inspired by the acclaimed, all-electric Manta GSe concept – the specific front bumper and fascia, and the GSe emblem on the tailgate, leave no doubts as to the dynamic GSe character. Inside, the sporty ambitions are highlighted by the Alcantara®-trimmed performance front seats that have been certified by AGR* to provide optimal comfort and support.
Further specification details will be announced in due course. The vehicles will go on sale in the UK towards the end of the year with customer deliveries scheduled for early 2023.

Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer GSe priced from £43,250
Vauxhall has opened orders for the Astra Sports Tourer GSe, the electrified performance variant of the Astra Sports Tourer. Prices for the Astra Sports Tourer GSe start from £43,250.
GSe stands for Grand Sport Electric and is the new performance sub-brand from Vauxhall, integrating electric performance credentials with sharp handling and styling. From launch, there are three GSe variants: Grandland GSe, Astra GSe, and Astra Sports Tourer GSe. All three models feature unique styling upgrades inside and out and come with powerful electrified drivetrains and improved handling thanks to suspension and steering upgrades.
Order books for Grandland GSe and Astra GSe are already open.
Astra Sports Tourer GSe – electrified performance
The Plug-in Hybrid powertrain seen on conventional Astra Sports Tourer versions is upgraded for GSe variants. Astra Sports Tourer GSe comes with a 180PS 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine connected to an 81.2kW (110PS) electric motor for a total power output of 225PS and maximum torque of 360Nm – up from 180PS and 250Nm on standard Plug-in Hybrid variants. This helps the Astra Sports Tourer GSe accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds and achieve a top-speed of 146mph.
Featuring a 12.4kWh battery, Astra Sports Tourer GSe offers up to 39 miles of pure electric range, and with emissions as low as 26g/km CO2, the Astra Sports Tourer GSe is eligible for a Benefit-in-Kind rate of 12%.
Added driving enjoyment
Vauxhall engineers have revised the suspension onboard the Astra Sports Tourer GSe for sharper handling, fitting it with 11 per cent stiffer springs and Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology by specialists KONI. The technology adjusts the damping characteristics at high frequencies (to control the suspension) and low frequencies (focusing on the body) to provide a smooth and balanced ride.
As part of the performance upgrades, Vauxhall has also recalibrated the Astra Sports Tourer GSe’s steering for a sportier feel and to deliver purer feedback. Steering response has been increased by 9 per cent over standard models, with the response rate better at all wheel angles. This also improves the on-centre feel and helps deliver better feedback at speed.
Vauxhall has also adjusted the Sport mode on GSe models, with the electronic stability control (ESC) set to engage slightly later.
Unique design and specification
The Astra Sports Tourer GSe features several styling upgrades to help it stand out on the road. A 10mm lower profile is achieved from the revised suspension and damping profile, and 18-inch ‘Commodore’ wheels give the car a distinct stance, while a black roof and black Griffin logos are also featured.
All Astra Sports Tourer GSe models also come with IntelliLux adaptive LED® Pixel headlights and dark tinted rear windows.
Inside, Alcantara®-trimmed performance front seats, certified by Germany’s AGR (Aktion Gesunder Rücken or ‘Campaign for Healthier Backs’) and a GSe-specific leather steering wheel are included as part of the GSe upgrades. A Multimedia Pure Panel Pro Navigation system with a 10-inch digital instrument display and a 10-inch touchscreen with Natural Voice Recognition is also featured, as is wireless smartphone charging and the Intelli-HUD head-up-display technology for an improved driving experience.
For improved safety and convenience, Astra Sports Tourer GSe models feature Intelli-Drive technology with Forward Collision Alert and Active Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. Also included is Drowsiness Detection, Lane Departure Warning and Traffic Sign Assistant, Cross Traffic and Side Blind Spot alert and Automatic Speed Assistant with Stop Function – all contributing towards a safer driving experience for driver and passenger.
